Welcome To Cook's Child Care Program!

Welcome! In September 1985, Cook's School Day Care Inc. opened its doors to the community in the old Cook's School on Danforth Road just north of Cobourg. After almost 20 years offering early learning and child care services at our original leased location, the Program was relocated to 700 D'Arcy Street in Cobourg in 2005 when the building was sold. The increased square footage provided at our new location allowed us the opportunity to expand the number of spaces available to the community from 50 to 73.

We are proud to say we have Staff dedicated to providing high quality theme-based early learning and child care programs to children 12 months to 12 years of age. We continually strive to set an environment that is inviting, stimulating, and offers the children many opportunities to explore.

Our groups are set up in the following way:

• Toddlers (15 to 30 months): 1 teacher for every 5 children; maximum group size is 15 children (based on the size of the room).
• Preschoolers (2 ½ to 5 years): 1 teacher for every 8 children; maximum group size is 23 children (based on the size of the room).
• JK/SK (3.8 to 6 years): 1 teacher for every 10 children; maximum group size is 20 children (based on the size of the room).
• School-Age (6 to 12 years): 1 teacher for every 15 children; maximum group size is 15 children (based on the size of the room).

Cook's Child Care Program is conveniently located in the northeast end of Cobourg lending convenient access to downtown and local industry. We are also minutes from the 401 and the train station. Cook's Child Care Program has the ability to arrange for our staff to pick-up and drop-off children at three local schools (C.R. Gummow Public School, Grant Sine Public School, and St. Joseph's Separate School).

Each individual room is filled with a variety of activity centres (books, drama, science, music, etc.) that will satisfy your child's curiosity and creativity, as well as the need for fun and adventure while giving you, the parent, peace of mind while you work or explore your own interests.
